Bob Ackerman and John Nolan tie for third at 2-under par 70

FRANKENMUTH, MICHIGAN – David Nolan from the Van Dyke Sports Center birdied the final hole in regulation at The Fortress in Frankenmuth to force a playoff, then won the event on the first extra hole over Brian Cairns from The Fox Club. 

Cairns defeted Bob Ackerman in a two hole playoff in the previous WholesaleGrips.com event.  Ackerman tied for third with John Nolan.

ORCHARD LAKE, MICHIGAN – Brian Cairns from The Fox Club outasted Bob Ackerman in a two hole playoff on Tuesday to win the second of six WHOLESALEGRIPS.com Michigan PGA Stroke Play Events at Orchard Lake Country Club. 

Carins, using the new Srixon Z-Star tour yellow, squeezed out victory on the second playoff hole after tying with Ackerman at 1-under par 71.

Kevin Muir finishes second with 1-under par 71

CLARKSTON, MICHIGAN – Scott Brotebeck from The Jewel of Grand Blanc fired a 4-under par 68 to win the inaugural WholesaleGRIPS.com Michigan PGA Stroke Play Event at Oakhurst Golf and Country Club on Wednesday. 

Brotebeck opened with a bogey at the first hole before making birdies at three, six and nine to shoot 34 on the front nine.  After 6 consecutive pars on the back nine, he birdied sixteen and after going for the par-5 eighteenth hole---hit a great pitch to get it up and down from the valley on the right side of the green for birdie.
